Lucy stands behind a podium saying 'Hawai'i Conference Center.' To her left is a large projector screen showing a Contributions slide, reading: 'Empirical insights capturing the diversity of BLV users' video accessibility preferences across a wide range of viewing scenarios; a six-dimensional video accessibility design space to guide developers and designers; formative considerations of the ethical and societal impacts of AI for video and content accessibility,' encouraging people to read the paper, and containing her contact information.

It was so great to present our work, serve as a student volunteer, catch up with friends and colleagues, and meet so many new people at my first CHI 🤗 Find more information about the research we presented below, and access the papers through the links to the right!

Works Presented

Have you ever wondered how to make different kinds of videos accessible to blind and low vision audiences? Unsurprisingly, a "one-size-fits-all" approach isn't sufficient. We dive into the diversity of BLV people's video accessibility preferences in our paper, "It's Kind of Context Dependent": Understanding Blind and Low Vision People's Video Accessibility Preferences Across Viewing Scenarios! 🌟

Grateful to have also been a supporting author on Sharon's paper, "Vulnerable, Victimized, and Objectified": Understanding Ableist Hate and Harassment Experienced by Disabled Content Creators on Social Media!

Workshop Paper

Also excited to have participated in the With or Without Permission: Site-Specific Augmented Reality for Social Justice workshop! Thanks to the organizers for putting together such a thought provoking and engaging session!
